How to Grow Garlic in Containers (Step by Step Guide With Video)
In this project I'll show you how to
grow garlic cloves in container. So once you've got your leftover garlic, I'm going to show you a really quick way
and make sure that it's germinated
correctly. So you just need a cup, some
rainwater, and some garlic.
Bear in mind only use this technique to
re-hydrate really old garlic. You can
plant fresher garlic straight into your
container but I find this technique a
lot more fun and this helped.
All we need
is a smallest amount of rainwater in the
bottom this is just to help the roots
start that will do so you put the garlic
in now your roots are going to come out
of this part and your green sections
going to come out of there
so you just need to put them in root
side down it'll be easy once they're all
in and you just separate separate your
garlic you can leave them in the shell
now as you can see I'm using everything
I have you'll find the bigger the clove
the more successful you'll be at
germinating and growing a larger
healthier garlic so now you got them all
in the cup all standing up properly you
just leave them there for a few days
maybe a week
one week later and your garlic clove
should look something like this they
sprout really really quickly so before
they start rotting it's now time to put
them into soil so I'm just gonna use an
old pot I found in a garden now make
sure there's some good drainage holes as
usual I'm going to use 50% native soil
and 50% homemade compost if you want to
know how to make homemade compost check
out the video link at the end of this
video I'm just gonna use a little bit of
this mesh that I found just to sift the
the soil in properly to make sure
there's no big chunks
and just fill that up until it's about a
few inches away from the top so now
you've got all your soil prepared in the
pot just get the in the handle of the
truck and what you want to do is plant
them about an inch to two inches deep
and about three to four inches apart so
I'm just going to use this as a nice
guide
I swear fine
just place them in enough I'll pack them
down too tight
and then just water to me
and you'll probably only need to water
these less than once a week but keep an
eye on the moisture levels and they
should be fine in about 4 months time if
you don't see a follow-up video of me
harvesting these garlic's please
